Wiki            : "For the Good Times" is a 1970 song penned by Kris
Kristofferson that appeared on his debut album Kristofferson.

Later that year, Ray Price recorded a version of the song
which topped the U.S. country music charts and was awarded
"Song of the Year" by the Academy of Country Music.
"For the Good Times" was Price's fifth number one single and
spent a total of nineteen weeks on the country chart.
"For the Good Times" crossed over onto the pop chart peaking
at number eleven, becoming Ray Price's only release to hit
the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100.

The song has been recorded by many artists, including
Elvis Presley, on the album: "Elvis as Recorded live at
Madison Square Garden" , New York City, USA, at the evening
show on 10 June 1972 , wich this album reached peak
positions US Country: 22, US: 11 ,and 3x Multi-Platinum!
Chet Atkins, Al Green, Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson and
Perry Como, whose version reached #7 on the UK Singles
Chart in 1973. Johnny Cash recorded a version of For the
Good Times, released posthumously on
"American IV: Aint No Grave".
